Who Is Performing at the 2017 American Music Awards

Even if you had unlimited power to organize a global music festival with the world’s best pop, rock and R&B acts, the performances wouldn’t reach the level of quality or magnitude that you’ll find at the American Music Awards on Sunday, Nov. 19. Legendary maidens of Motown will pass the mic to global K-Pop phenoms, and independent songstresses will captivate audiences sitting at home while indie rockers lift them out of their seats. Yeah, it’s going to be amazing.

Check out the performers who will be gracing the stage at this year’s American Music Awards.

Christina Aguilera

When Whitney Houston herself said that you sing the best version of one of her songs, you must be doing something right. Christina Aguilera will be taking on some of Houston’s iconic tunes at the AMAs on Sunday. She’ll perform songs from Houston’s acclaimed soundtrack for The Bodyguard, celebrating its 25th anniversary in November.

❤️ Christina Aguilera will honor 22-time #AMAs winner Whitney Houston and the anniversary of "The Bodyguard" with a musical tribute! LIVE 11.19 on ABC 🎶

Alessia Cara and Zedd

Fans will not want to go anywhere when Alessia Cara and Zedd take the stage. The duo will perform their smash hit “Stay.” Alessia will definitely have to stay around for a while too, as she’s a nominee for Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist. Her first nomination was in 2016 for New Artist of the Year.

BTS

BTS is relatively young, but they’ve already made a lot of history. The Korean pop band has spent over 40 weeks on Billboard’s Social 50 chart, and were the first K-Pop group in history to crack the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. The AMAs will be their very first live television performance in the United States.

Selena Gomez

2014: Selena Gomez delivers heartfelt rendition of her ballad “The Heart Wants What It Wants. 2015: Selenas stuns audiences with her energetic “Same Old Love.” There’s a slight idea of what AMAs history will say after Selena’s first televised performance of “Wolves” on Sunday, but it’s safe to guess that the word “incredible” will be associated with it.

Running with the 🐺 to get to YOU… 11.19 on ABC.#SELENAxAMAs Selena Gomez

Niall Horan

It’s rare for a member of a wildly popular boy band to find success as an independent artist. It’s even more rare to find both the commercial success and critical acclaim Niall Horan has post-One Direction. His debut album Flicker topped the Billboard 200 charts, with his single “This Town” surpassing 450 million streams worldwide.

Khalid and Imagine Dragons

On the surface, Khalid and Imagine Dragons performing together seems like an odd pairing. But when you take into account Khalid’s success on the Billboard R&B chart, and Imagine Dragons’ penchant for levitating, up-on-your-feet rock anthems, it’s assured that whatever they’re working on will be utterly delightful.

Lady Gaga

It’s only been a year since Lady Gaga strummed on a guitar while singing her emotional hit track “Million Reasons” at last year’s AMAs. This year, Gaga will be performing her catchy Billboard Hot 100 single “The Cure.” Even though fans know what song she will be performing, Gaga has proven herself to be full of surprises at the AMAs.

Demi Lovato

If all of Demi Lovato‘s followers on social media were to move to their own country, their population of over 145 million would be bigger than that of Russia. Considering her sultry, breathtaking performances at past AMAs, its easy to see why the Demi-fandom is booming!

Sorry, I'm definitely not sorry to tell you that Demi Lovato is performing 'Sorry Not Sorry' at the #AMAs! 🙌 LIVE 11.19 on ABC. #DEMIxAMAs

Shawn Mendes

Nineteen is a typical age for people to head off to college, start new careers or just discover who they are as people. If you’re Shawn Mendes, by 19 you’ve already had two No. 1 album debuts and 7 consecutive Platinum and multi-Platinum singles. On Sunday, nothing will hold Shawn back from adding AMAs performer to that list of teen-era accomplishments.

Few artists have been such a colorful fixture of AMAs history quite like P!nk, taking the AMAs stage in 2001, 2003, 2008 and 2012. This year, P!nk will be performing “Beautiful Trauma,” the title track from her most recent, chart-topping album.

Portugal. The Man

Admit it, it’s impossible to stay still while listening to Portugal. The Man’s “Feel It Still.” The song represents a sort of creative and commercial renaissance for the group, coming in at #1 on multiple charts. And now, the band from Wasilla, Alaska (nope, they aren’t actually from Portugal) will perform the track live at the AMAs.
