Karmin Goes Platinum

Congratulations Karmin! It was recently announced that the dynamic duo’s single “Brokenhearted” was certified Platinum with over 1,000,000 sales of the song. This has been a busy year for Karmin, from debuting their single on Saturday Night Live, appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Good Morning America, and Chelsea Lately, to releasing their EP Hello on May 4th. But it doesn’t stop there. The pair has also reached #1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Play Charts and is currently in the Top 10 at U.S. Radio.

Last year Nick and Amy, along with DeStorm and Christina Grimmie received the American Music Awards New Media Honors which celebrated the work of “web content creators who leverage their musical talent to engage viewers and audiences worldwide.” Now this year Karmin has been nominated for “Breakout Group” and “Web Star” at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards which airs July 22nd. In addition, they have also received a nomination for “Best Web-Born Artist” in MTV, VH1, and CMT’s O Music Award, whose winner will be announced June 27th.

Karmin first took the internet by storm last year when their cover of Chris Brown’s “Look At Me Now” went viral on YouTube. The video is still their most popular video with almost 68 million views. This summer, fans will be able to see Karmin perform live on the “R You On The List” tour, along with Flo Rida, Cee-Lo Green and Kirko Bangz.
